Owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo, Stan and Liza, The Cross Cut has ensured that the residents of Adelaide’s Northern suburbs have looked and felt their best for over 35 years. With their team of hair specialists in tow, there isn’t a haircut or hairstyle too difficult.

When Stan was in search for a location for his salon in 1989, he recognised Elizabeth’s thriving community and knew the locals would embrace a family-owned business – and the Elizabeth community did not disappoint. Today, The Cross Cut is booming, with several clients dedicated to getting their blow-dries and colours maintained on a weekly basis.

Although The Cross Cut has won several awards for best customer service, the real award is being a part of such an incredible community. From their array of new and existing customers, Stan’s most memorable client is Mrs Joel who first walked into their salon in 1989. In 2021, Mrs Joel celebrated her 100th birthday in their salon chair and is currently one of their longest running clients at 103 years old. The Cross Cut community reaches further than just Elizabeth, with their second salon making waves in Rundle Mall.

With so many hair trends coming and going, Stan and Liza take pride in ensuring their salon is up to date with new techniques, services and products. When asked about Liza’s favourite hair care product, it was a clear answer: Kérastase. “Not only has Kérastase been a pioneer in the haircare industry, but their products celebrate all hair types and textures on both men and women. One of my favourite products in their range is the ‘Genesis’ – it’s AMAZING!”

When Stan’s not in the salon perfecting a sleek bob, he is spending time with the people who matter most, his family. “I enjoy spending time with my parents who are over the age of 80 and taking my dad to Brighton for fishing. I was lucky to have celebrated my 60th birthday last year and was given a trip to Singapore to see the Grand Prix from my whole family.”
